New Horizons
Iguazú Quintet is a young Belgian ensemble made up of multifaceted musicians, developing a distinctive sound at the crossroads of popular and classical music. Through numerous original arrangements enhanced by improvisation, as well as collaborations with many contemporary composers, the group explores new musical territories.
Iguazú Quintet was founded in 2016 at the Royal Conservatory of Mons (Arts2), and has since grown into a professional project spanning classical music, tango, and jazz, performing both in Belgium and abroad.
After recording a first album dedicated to Astor Piazzolla, released in 2020, the group unveiled its new album, Passages, in July 2023. Dedicated to contemporary composers of Tango Nuevo, this album continues the ensemble’s artistic path of blending musical genres while establishing itself as a chamber jazz formation.
Today, the group offers an ever more inventive and modern musical journey, drawing inspiration from a wide range of world music traditions, as well as jazz fusion and contemporary music.
Iguazú Quintet is part of the “Arts et Vie” touring program of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (code 14321).
